My Preparation
- Being a mom means taking care of “me” first and being healthy. Seeing myself as beautiful creates positivity. When we feel good about ourselves, we create positivity not only in our own life but most importantly, in the lives of the people around us – our family. We can give so much love and we can take good care of them. Moms are the hardworking people I know. I believe we are God’s greatest creation that’s why He created us STRONG. But we need to take some time off too, inorder to recharge and become better mommies. Keep in mind: When we are HAPPY and PREPARED, we are ready to TRAVEL!
My Plan
- To travel is my safe haven. The thought of traveling excites and comforts me. Before I save money for my trip, the first thing I do is plan. Where do I want to go? Is it okay to take some time off from work or how many days am I allowed for my vacation? Will I be traveling solo, with an escorted group, with family or friends? Who will look after my kids if I will be traveling without them? Are there important activities or occasions that might be affected with my travel dates? When is the best time for me to travel? Planning ahead of time will make things easier and somehow stress-free.
My Budget
- How do I get to travel? Save, save, save. That really is the key. We always find reasons or excuses not to travel, like having no time or money. Nothing comes easy, but as the saying goes: If there’s a will, there’s a way. If we really want to explore the world, then we need to prioritize our spending habits. I started by trying to set aside a certain amount every month, keeping my monthly bills to a minimum, and cutting back from buying things I don’t really need. With regards to time, I plan at least a year or two years before my target date. To prepare your budget, make a list starting from airfares, transfers, hotel accommodations, city tours, food allowance and pocket money. It’s never too late to set your goals and start saving now!
My Guide
- It is important to read reviews from previous travelers or friends who have traveled to give us ideas and tips on places, safety, accommodations, tours, restaurants and transfers. Read travel books or watch travel videos to familiarise yourself with the place you would like to visit. As a seasoned traveler, I realised that money is the main factor when we travel. We really have to prepare and set a budget. We can splurge or be practical. If you can afford to buy that business class ticket for long haul flights or stay in fancy and expensive hotels, then why not? Some airlines sell business class tickets to Europe for as low as $1,500.00. This splurging includes perks to make traveling convenient and more comfortable. But being a practical mom and a wise traveler doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy that economy ticket and the 3-star hotel with a good location. And there are more options with accommodations nowadays. Remember, you can always use the extra money for shopping, for trying that cool restaurants or taking the city tours, and you can even use it for broadway show or theme park tickets! In your free time, try browsing for places you would like to visit, find good deals and promotions, and start planning your dream vacation!
