I admit, I am someone who’s addicted to staycations. I define it as a vacation either spent at home or at local hotels. This means staying up and waking up late, taking time to relax and enjoying room service! My kids and I love to do this every once in a while, or sometimes with a group of friends. If you have very chaotic schedules, opting for a staycation is the best way to relax, recharge and spend time with the people you love. Also, if I am on a budget I always consider having a staycation. You don’t have to spend a lot to do this and planning is really simple.
How To Enjoy Your Staycation :
- Choose a nice hotel and check all the amenities like Club rooms, swimming pool, gym, spa and massage, game rooms, 24 hour room service, in-room movies, restaurants, convenience or sundries stores, babysitting and many more.
- Try the in-room dining or room service. I love waking up and having breakfast in the room or trying the different cuisines from the menu. Actually this is the first thing that we (my kids and I) would check as soon as we enter our room. We love to order midnight meals too.
- Have a massage or visit the salon while the kids are playing in the game room or swimming at the pool (make sure there’s adult supervision).
- Have an afternoon tea or cocktails at the Club room. I always consider getting the Club room or Executive room to maximise our stay in the hotel. The amenities would include : private check in/ check out, personalised service, staying on the Club room floor, access to the club or executive lounge which serves buffet breakfast and an afternoon tea or early evening cocktails. I look forward to tasting scones, finger sandwiches and sweets during afternoon tea. Some hotels have dvd’s, games and books/ magazines that they can lend you when you stay on club floors.
- How about a bubble bath while sipping your favourite champagne? (Yes please!)
- Watch movies or play video games.
- Have fun with your best friends.
- No need to rush, make sure to request for a late check out.
